How InkWright Studio Works
InkWright Studio meets weekly and is divided into two parts:
-
Structured Writing Instruction — Students build strong writing skills using the IEW curriculum, deepening their understanding of narrative, structure, and expressive communication.
-
Creative Production Lab — Students transition into a hands-on creative studio where they research, design, and produce immersive storytelling projects connected to the themes they are studying in writing. Class activities may include designing invitations, creating sets, costumes or props, coordinating roles, or shaping experiential events.
By combining structured writing with collaborative production work, InkWright Studio empowers students to own both the craft and the creation of stories.
Capstone Events
InkWright Studio culminates in two major student-produced events each year, offering opportunities to share creative work with families and the Verve community:
-
Fall: Living History Experience
An immersive event rooted in a themed historical moment, where students transform space through narrative, research, design, and performance. Guests step into a world shaped by student work. -
Spring: Story Production Showcase
A larger-scale production where students take on creative roles to design, build, and present a story-based experience, with opportunities to perform, build, direct, or manage behind-the-scenes elements like sets, props, marketing, and logistics.
Who This Class Is For
InkWright Studio is ideal for students who:
-
want to build confidence in both communication and creative leadership
-
like to think deeply about story, character, and world
-

This class supports both creative thinkers and structured learners by offering a balance of academic writing instruction and dynamic, real-world production experience.

"As a parent, the big draw for me was the writing component, as I feel strongly that writing is more meaningful with an audience of peers. The writing has been challenging for her, but I've seen wonderful growth and a developed understanding of the structure of a 5 paragraph essay. This class has been a wonderful way to make new friends, try out new hobbies and develop skills in a supportive, homelike environment. Meg Arnold is a creative, and fun teacher for the kids to have. I'm grateful for this option in our homeschool community!" -VERVE Parent
